South Africa's Eastern Cape is host to a magnificent coastline, making it very popular with water sports enthusiasts. Also known as the "friendly city", Port Elizabeth offers a wide range of attractions for people of all ages, from diverse wildlife to an exhilarating mix of water sports to choose from. Port Elizabeth is said to have one of the best beach climates in the world making it an ideal location for spending time on the beach and enjoying the ocean.
The Addo Elephant Park is a great place to visit while in the Eastern Cape. It benefits from being in a malaria-free environment and offers more than just elephants to its visitors. In addition to the 350 African Elephants on display, you can also witness Cape buffalo, black rhino, black-backed jackal and much more. The astonishing flightless dung beetle can also be found at the park, other examples of this species are rarely found elsewhere.

The Eastern Cape of South Africa experiences warm summers with around 7 to 8 hours sunshine each day. The capital of the Eastern Cape region is Port Elizabeth. The weather in Port Elizabeth is mostly warm with temperatures rarely dropping below 10 degrees Celsius in the daytime. Another major city in the Eastern Cape region is East London. The weather in East London is similar to that in Port Elizabeth although it is slightly warmer and does not drop below freezing in the night.
